What is PRP and how can it help me?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment is a non-surgical treatment that uses your own bodies growth factors to stimulate skin and follicle recovery. The treatment uses your own platelets from your own blood to help rejuvenate and enhance the natural healing process of skin and hair follicles.
The increased production of collagen will brighten, rejuvenate and rehydrate the skin and promote healthy hair growth, even after the first treatment. A course of 3 - 6 treatments are recommended to see the full benefits of this treatment.
The Procedure
The first step will include having an initial consultation with one of our qualified aesthetic doctors. This will involve a conversation about your current health and your desired outcomes with this particular treatment.
Once a treatment plan has been made and explained to you, numbing cream will be applied to the areas that will be treated.
A small amount of blood will be taken from your arm, in the exact same manner as a standard blood test. This will be placed into a centrifuge to separate the platelets and plasma from other blood components.
This will be collected and re-introduced into the specified area using a small sterile needle.
The entire procedure takes around 15 - 20 minutes depending on the area being treated. The results can be seen within a few days, and the final result can be seen after 2 - 3 weeks.
